Thursday 2 June 2022
On 1st June 2022, the boys Under 16s and Opens futsal teams competed in the qualifying round for the FNSW Futsal School Championship. Our Under 16s team won their first game against Young (4-2) with Bailey Joiner scoring the opening goal and Zac Owers outmaneuvering player after player. The team had no substitutions and played hard in the rest of their games.
The Opens team were a force to be reckoned with. After a slow start that ended in a tie against Young (3-3), the rest of their games were thrilling and fast-paced, with almost all of the team scoring a goal throughout the day! Samson Lucas controlled the ball in the back half as the team worked seamlessly together to play phenomenal games. There were some close calls but in the end, the Opens team went on to win their division without dropping a game.

The sportsmanship, attitude and encouragement of these students throughout the day were outstanding. The Opens team even took time in between their own games to coach and cheer on the Under 16s. A huge congratulations to both teams. We look forward to cheering on the Opens team who have qualified to compete at the NSW School Championship in Sydney.
