Harmony day

Term 1 2023

On the International Day of Eliminating Racial Discrimination and Harmony Day, Year 5 looked to Jesus’ example of loving others. Jesus was a friend to the lonely, forgotten, outcast and sick. He teaches us to love others unconditionally. As it says in John 13:34: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” The students’ creativity and love for other was expressed in the development of paper chain figures with their buddies – portraits of those who are dear to them. They embraced what it means to live in harmony explaining in their own words their understanding: “celebrating differences”; “living together in peace”; “respecting other people’s cultures”.
