Megan Cameron, a beloved local artist renowned for her intricate and lifelike drawings, recently visited our secondary school art classes to impart her wisdom and passion for art. With a focus on the essential element of hair in portraiture, Megan captivated the young artists with her expertise and enthusiasm.
Beyond technical skills, Megan also shared her journey as an artist, emphasising the importance of self-expression and following one’s dreams and talents. She encouraged students to fearlessly explore their creativity, reminding them that every artist's path is unique.
In addition to honing their drawing skills, students were inspired by Megan’s discussion of the diverse career opportunities within creative industries. From illustration to animation, graphic design to fashion, Megan illuminated the multitude of ways in which art can become a fulfilling and viable career path.
As the workshop concluded, students left with not only newfound knowledge and skills but also a renewed sense of confidence in their creative abilities.
