The Year 5 students competing in the State competition of the Da Vinci Decathlon demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, clarity of thought, focus and determination across a range of disciplines. Though the papers challenged their thinking, the students worked in the spirit of Leonardo da Vinci himself - creatively, collaboratively and championing unique ideas. We are proud of the way the students rose to the challenges!
We are so proud of their achievements. In the State Final there were 72 schools participating in the Year 5 Challenge and the Wagga Christian College team achieved some amazing results, notably:
6th in Maths
12th in English
7th in Code Breaking
Congratulations team!!
Prime 7 News were at the State competition to capture the thoughts of the students mid competition. (Skip to 10 mins 20 seconds for the article).
Massive thanks to CSU Senior Lecturer and Dad, Dr Lachlan Brown, for working with the group of Year 5 students who are represented the Riverina in this competition aimed at gifted and talented students. The students worked so hard in lunchtimes, after school and holidays as they tried their very best in the Da Vinci Decathlon.
